Rugby on TV: Four Premiership sides in European action

The race for European glory is nearing its conclusion, and four Premiership teams remain within an earshot of silverware. 

In the premier Champions Cup, Exeter, Northampton and Harlequins are still firmly on the road to London after impressive wins last time out.

Harlequins got the weekend off to a good start with a late win against Glasgow Warriors, with a Sam Riley try stealing the win for the Londoners.

This set the bar high for the rest of the Premiership sides this weekend, but Exeter lived up to the billing as they beat Bath in tough conditions.

Rounding off the good news for the Premiership teams, Northampton laid down a huge marker of their Championship credentials with a good win over Munster thanks to a second-half brace from George Hendy.

All four teams are back in action this weekend in the quarter-finals. Exeter travel to Toulouse, Northampton face the Bulls, Harlequins take on Bordeaux and Gloucester go head to head with Ospreys.

The focus for Premiership clubs will of course be on the European competitions, but there is also plenty of other rugby on TV this weekend.

The Women’s Six Nations gets back underway, as the Red Roses take on Scotland, Ireland go head to head with Wales and France face Italy.

In the other European fixtures, the headlines will be dominated by Leinster vs La Rochelle. This game is quickly becoming one of the biggest modern day rivalries. They have battled it out in the last two Champions Cup finals, and also met in this year’s pool stage.

There is also plenty of Challenge Cup action to sink our teeth into as well.
