Red Roses head coach John Mitchell has named Amy Cokayne and Abbie Ward in his side, as they look to clinch their third Six Nations Grand Slam in a row.
Leicester Tigers hooker Cokayne comes in for the injured Lark Atkin-Davies, meanwhile Bristol Bears’ Ward takes the place of Rosie Galligan. Sale Sharks lock Morwenna Talling comes into the starting side, with Ward named as a replacement.
Hannah Botterman and Maud Muir join Cokayne in the front-row. Zoe Aldcroft parters Talling at lock, and captain Marlie Packer again forms a formidable back-row alongside Sadia Kabeya and Alex Matthews.
Mo Hunt will again partner Holly Aitchison in the halves. Tatyana Heard and Meg Jones retain their spot in midfield, and stars Ellie Kildunne, Abby Dow and Jess Breach again form a deadly back three.
Emily Scarratt is the headline name on the bench this weekend.
“Our focus has remained on our process and how we best prepare for the next opposition. We now have an exciting challenge against France in France which we’re all looking forward to,” said Mitchell.
The Red Roses have been in fantastic form this Championship. They began their title defence with a comfortable 46-10 win over Wales. They then followed that up with another brilliant 48-0 win over Italy.
After this, and despite going down to 13 players at one point, they romped to a 46-0 win over Scotland. Last weekend was the pick of the bunch though, as they ran away 88-10 winners over Ireland. A win in Bordeaux would see the Red Roses win their third Grand Slam in a row.
