The Gallagher Premiership semi-final dates have today been confirmed.
The first semi-final will take place on Friday 31st May at 7:45pm. The second will take place a day later on Saturday 1st June at 3:30pm.
The confirmation comes as Northampton Saints become the first team to book their place in the Gallagher Premiership semi-finals following their 90-0 thrashing of Gloucester this afternoon. Their semi-final at Franklin’s Gardens takes the first slot too on the Friday evening.
Depending on the result of the Exeter Chiefs vs Harlequins game, six teams can still reach the play-offs. Saracens are in pole position to book the second home semi-final, but Bath and Sale are close behind.
In the table, Northampton Saints sit top of the pile on 60 points, but the chasing pack are all very close to each other. Saracens sit on 56 points, Bath are on 55 points and Bath are on 52. Outside of the top four, Bristol and Harlequins are both on 49 points and Exeter sit on 45 points. Leicester Tigers are out of the picture following their loss to Sale last night; however they will still be looking to secure a top seven finish if Exeter don’t pick up any points against Harlequins.
The final round of the Gallagher Premiership next weekend sees all six of the chasing pack going toe-to-toe. Saracens face Sale Sharks at the StoneX in the headline game. Elsewhere, Harlequins take on Bristol Bears at the Stoop, Bath play Northampton Saints at the Rec and Exeter travel to Leicester Tigers for a feisty clash at Welford Road.
The bottom two sides also play each other next weekend, as Newcastle search for their first win of the season.
